## Programs

### What makes Dragons different?

Dragons is a personal development program, not a sports academy. Camps, classes, and Try Outs all run on the same method. Movement. Challenge. Coaching. Tribe. The outcome isn't the sport. It's a child who tries when unsure, keeps going after a fall, handles frustration without melting down, and looks out for the kid next to them.

### What is Dragons.sg?

A lot of parents find us after trying tuition, enrichment, and sports academies that didn't quite stick. The activity ran its course. The child came home the same. The Dragons Personal Development Program is a life skills and adventure program for kids aged 5 to 12, and beyond, built around intentional, play based learning. We use 18 plus sports and adventure modalities including skateboarding, ice skating, trekking, parkour, wakeboarding, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking, bushcraft, and more, as the vehicle for real behaviour change. Founded in 2001, with over 100,000 children through our programs, Dragons runs across Somerset, East Coast, Bishan, and Stadium. White Dragons (ages 5 to 6) builds the foundation. The core program runs for kids aged 5 to 12, and beyond.

### What programs does Dragons.sg offer?

Parents often ask where the best starting point is, especially when their child has never done anything like this before. Three core formats. Holiday Adventure Camps are 3 day and 5 day immersive experiences during school breaks. Multi sport from day one, with 18 plus activities across a week: rock climbing, kayaking, parkour, skateboarding, team missions, and more. Weekly Sessions run in structured 1 hour formats across school terms. Our current weekly sessions focus on skateboarding, with inline skating, ball sports, and additional modalities rolling out across coming terms. Birthday Parties are coached adventure experiences with celebration built in. Every format runs on the Dragons Method. Same life skills programming underneath, regardless of the activity on top.

### Does my child need prior sports experience to join?

Honest answer: no. Every modality we run, whether skateboarding, inline skating, parkour, ice skating, rock climbing, kayaking, or anything else, is designed to meet children where they are, regardless of experience. We provide the equipment (BYO helmet is the only exception) and our certified coaches work with complete beginners through to advanced. The work isn't really about the sport anyway. It's about coached repetition, controlled challenge, and the mechanism that turns "I can't" into "I did." Most of our most committed Dragons started with zero experience in anything physical.

### Is skateboarding compulsory?

No. Skateboarding is one modality among many we use inside the Dragons Personal Development Program, alongside ice skating, trekking, parkour, wakeboarding, cycling, rock climbing, bushcraft, and more. The activity is the vehicle. The real work is the coached reflection, the peer challenge, the getting it wrong and trying again. All of which happens through whatever the modality is. Our current weekly term sessions focus on skateboarding, with inline skating, ball sports, and other sports rolling out across coming terms. Camps are multi sport from day one.

### Is Dragons safe for beginners?

Many parents come to us specifically because their child is cautious or has never tried anything physically challenging. Here's what we've seen after 25 years: cautious kids often do better than outgoing ones in the right environment. Every child starts at their level. No pressure to keep up. Our White Dragons program (ages 5 to 6) builds movement confidence through play before children step into the core program. Across all modalities, whether skateboarding, parkour, climbing, or whatever we're running, protective gear is provided, BYO helmet is compulsory, and we hold a strict 1:6 coach to child ratio. Challenge is matched to readiness. That's the whole protocol.

### Must we commit long term?

Honest answer: no. We designed the pathway specifically so families can test before they invest. Start with a $29 Try Out to see if it's the right fit. If your child loves it, choose a FLEXI PASS for month to month flexibility, or a TERM PASS for deeper progression. Holiday camps are standalone experiences with no ongoing obligation. Here's the thing. If the program is good enough, families stay because they want to. Not because they have to. A lot of parents come to us after being burned by long contracts at other enrichment programs. That's why we built it this way.

## Try Out

### What is the Dragons Try Out?

Most parents discover us looking for something that will genuinely help their child's confidence. Not just another class. The Dragons Try Out is a coached adventure mini session designed to show you what your child is actually capable of. Our current Try Outs are skateboarding based, with inline skating, ball sports, and other modality Try Outs rolling out soon, plus mini camp Try Outs on the way. Small teams of maximum 6 children, led by a certified coach. Kids aged 5 to 12, and beyond. No experience needed. Most children have none. The Try Out costs $29 and includes the session, a coach assessment, and a parent debrief afterward. It's the clearest way to see if Dragons is the right fit before committing to anything.

### What if my child is shy?

This is one of the most common concerns parents share with us. Here's what we see: shy children often thrive here. We start with movement, not talking. Coaches are trained to engage children through physical activity first, which removes the social pressure that makes shy kids freeze. No standing in a circle introducing yourself. Kids are moving within the first 2 minutes. Many of our strongest, most confident Dragons started as the quietest child in the group. Parents regularly tell us they can't believe the difference they see after just one session.

### What should they bring to a Try Out?

Parents often overthink this. Here's the short version: closed toe shoes (sneakers), comfortable clothes they can move in, and a water bottle. BYO helmet is compulsory. This applies to every Dragons program, regardless of the activity. For the current skateboarding Try Out, we provide skateboards, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. As we roll out new modalities (inline skating, ball sports, and more), the equipment we provide adjusts accordingly. Your confirmation will tell you anything specific needed. Bring your child ready to try something new.

### Do parents stay during the Try Out?

Yes. And most parents are glad they do. You're welcome to observe while coaches run the session. There are natural check in moments where you can see how your child is responding to the challenges. Most parents tell us they're surprised by what they see. Their child trying things they'd never attempt at home. After the session, your child's coach walks you through their observations, gives honest feedback on readiness, and answers any questions you have about next steps.

### What happens after the Try Out?

Your child's coach will give you clear, honest feedback on what they observed. That includes confidence level, willingness to try, how they responded to challenge, and how they interacted with the team. If Dragons is a good fit, we'll show you the pathway forward and help you choose the right pass or program. If it isn't the right time, that's fine too. No hard sell. The Try Out exists so you can make an informed decision based on what you actually see your child do. Not what someone promises in a brochure.

## Camps

### Camp locations, drop off, pick up and timing?

Parents always want the practical details first, so here they are. Camp hours run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Full day immersive adventure experience. Our Singapore camp locations include Orchard Central (277 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238858), East Coast Park (Marine Cove, Singapore 449876), and Bishan Central. Drop off is at the designated meeting point at your chosen location. You can bring your camper directly, or use our Door 2 Door transport service for safe, convenient pickup and drop off at your home. Many working parents use Door 2 Door because it removes the logistics stress entirely.

### What age group are camps for?

Our Urban Adventure Camps are designed for kids aged 5 to 12, and beyond. This is the age where kids are old enough to take on real challenges but still young enough to be genuinely excited about adventure. Parents of children at the younger end often ask if their child will cope. The answer is yes. Our coaches adapt every mission to match readiness, and teams are grouped by age so your child is always with peers at a similar stage. For children aged 5 to 6, our White Dragons introductory program builds the foundation for camp readiness.

### What activities are included in camp?

Parents are often surprised by the range of what we pack into a single camp. Each camp includes 18 plus dynamic missions across Singapore: ice skating, rock climbing, jungle trekking, skateboarding, parkour, Amazing Race style challenges, Fear Factor missions, urban orienteering, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, lifesaving skills, muay thai, football, cycling, and more. Every activity is coached and supervised with a 1:6 ratio. The variety is deliberate. It exposes children to challenges they'd never choose on their own. Which is exactly where confidence grows. No two days feel the same.

### Do campers need prior experience?

No prior experience necessary for any camp activity. Parents tell us all the time: "My child has never tried rock climbing" or "She's never been on a kayak." That's exactly the point. Our certified coaches assess each camper's comfort level and adapt the challenge accordingly. Children who've done sports before get pushed further. Children who are trying everything for the first time get supported step by step. The Dragons Method is designed so that every child, regardless of experience, walks away having done something they didn't think they could.

### What should campers bring?

We provide all sports equipment, activity materials, and premium experiences. Parents don't need to buy or bring any sports gear. BYO helmet is compulsory for safety. Beyond that, campers should bring comfortable athletic clothing, closed toe sports shoes (no sandals), a water bottle, healthy snacks, sunscreen, and a hat. For activities like kayaking or water sports, we'll notify parents in advance if swimwear is needed. We recommend packing a small backpack they can carry comfortably throughout the day.

### What do campers eat during the day?

Food is part of the program. Dragons runs a Nutrition for Power and Clarity protocol on full-day camps (9 AM to 5 PM). Campers bring a clean packed lunch (zero or minimal processed food) or a small allowance to choose lunch with their team at a nearby hawker centre under coach supervision (a real-world life skills exercise in budgeting and choosing well). Dragons provides fresh fruit and healthy snacks throughout the day. Only water during activities. Camps are sugar-free, no soft drinks, no Milo, no sweetened drinks. Teaching children to fuel their bodies properly builds discipline and independence that carries well beyond camp.

### How do you guarantee transformation in just 5 days?

Parents are right to be skeptical. Five days sounds too short to change anything. Here's what 25 years and 100,000 plus campers have taught us: transformation happens when children face real challenges in a safe environment with coaches who know how to push without breaking. Our camps use real time adaptation. Coaches adjust missions throughout the day to maximize growth for each child. By day 3, parents start getting texts from their kids about what they did. By day 5, the child who came in quiet is leading their team. We hear the same thing every camp: "They came home different. Taller. More confident. Already asking when the next camp is."

### What happens if it rains?

Singapore weather is unpredictable. Parents always want to know the rain plan. We operate rain or shine. All our camp locations have covered areas and indoor alternatives for when heavy rain hits. Light rain is part of the adventure. Children learn to adapt, problem solve, and keep going when conditions aren't perfect. Which is a life skill in itself. In cases of severe weather warnings (lightning alerts, storms), we follow strict safety protocols and may adjust the schedule or provide make up sessions. Safety always comes first. A bit of rain never stopped a Dragon.

## Sessions

### How do weekly sessions work?

Parents who've tried other enrichment classes tell us the biggest difference with Dragons is the consistency. Same team, same coach, same day, same time, every single week. Your child is placed in a team based on age and skill level. They train with the same coach and teammates each week, which builds trust, accountability, and real friendships. Each session runs for 1 hour and follows our structured 4 step format: warm up, skill review, coached challenges, and reflection. The reflection step is what most programs skip. It's where children process what they learned. Which is how confidence actually gets built. Our current weekly sessions focus on skateboarding, with inline skating, ball sports, and other modalities rolling out across coming terms.

### What pass should I choose?

This is one of the most common questions parents ask after the Try Out. Here's the honest breakdown. FLEXI PASS ($167/month) gives you 4 x 1 hour classes per month as a monthly recurring subscription. Perfect if your family schedule is unpredictable. TERM PASS ($697 for 18 weeks) is our most popular option because it offers the best balance of progression and value, with 1 class per week plus 2 make up sessions included. X TERM PASS ($1,497 for 40 weeks) is the best value per session at $37 each, with 5 make up sessions. Ideal for committed families who've seen the results and want to go deeper. Most families start with TERM PASS.

### What if we miss a session?

Life happens. School events, family trips, sick days. Parents worry about wasting sessions, which is why we built make ups into the pass structure. TERM PASS includes 2 make up sessions. X TERM PASS includes 5. FLEXI PASS sessions are valid for 30 days from purchase. Make up sessions can be booked at any available session across all Dragons locations in Singapore. We also send reminders so you don't accidentally let credits expire. The goal is flexibility, not rigidity. Stressed parents don't raise confident kids.

### Do parents stay during sessions?

You're welcome to stay and watch. Most parents grab a coffee at a nearby café and enjoy the hour. It's one of the few moments in the week where someone else is investing in your child's growth. Parents who stay tell us they love seeing their child try things they'd never attempt at home. There are natural check in moments during sessions, and after each session your child's coach is available to share observations, discuss progress, and answer questions. We believe parents should see what's happening. Transparency builds trust.

### How is progress tracked?

One thing parents tell us they love is that progress at Dragons is visible, not vague. Every child receives a Dragons Progress Passbook when they join the weekly program. Coaches update it each session, tracking three dimensions: physical skills (balance, coordination, technique), behavioural growth (focus, resilience, effort), and social development (teamwork, communication, leadership). Parents see tangible progression over time. Not just hear about it. This also helps coaches identify when a child is ready for more challenge, or when they need extra support in a specific area.

## Safety

### What safety measures are in place?

Safety is the number one concern parents raise. Rightfully so. At Dragons, safety isn't an afterthought. It's foundational to everything we do. All participants wear appropriate protective gear including knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. BYO helmet is compulsory. Coaches are certified professionals with background checks and first aid training, backed by 25 plus years of operational experience. Strict 1:6 coach to child ratio across all programs. Every session begins with a thorough safety briefing and gear check. We have comprehensive emergency protocols, and all activities are designed to challenge children within a controlled, supervised environment.

### What are the health and safety protocols?

Parents who work in healthcare or education often ask us about our protocols in detail. We welcome that. All coaches are qualified, certified, and undergo background checks and first aid training. We enforce strict 1:6 supervision ratios at all times. Protective equipment is mandatory for all physical activities. Our emergency response framework operates on a clear escalation scale. Level 1 to 4 covers minor incidents handled on site by the coach. Level 5 to 9 means the parent is called immediately. Level 9 plus triggers an ambulance call. Full protocol documentation is available on request. Happy to walk any parent through it.

### Are weekly sessions safe?

Parents new to skateboarding often worry about injuries. Completely valid concern. Every weekly session follows a 3 step safety protocol. First, a gear check to make sure every child is properly equipped. Second, a structured warm up that assesses each child's readiness for the day. Third, continuous coaching supervision throughout the session with a 1:6 ratio. Our coaches are first aid certified and specifically trained to match challenge to readiness. Your child gets pushed to grow, but never beyond what's safe. In 25 years, this approach has kept hundreds of thousands of children safe while they learn.

## Booking

### How much do weekly sessions cost?

Parents appreciate transparency on pricing, so here are the numbers. FLEXI PASS is $167 per month, which works out to $42 per session for 4 classes. TERM PASS is $697 for 18 weeks at $39 per session. Includes 2 make up sessions. Most popular. X TERM PASS is $1,497 for 40 weeks at $37 per session with 5 make up sessions included. Best value for committed families. All passes include placement in a consistent team with the same coach, same day, and same time each week, plus a Dragons Team Kit and progress passbook provided as part of the programme.

### What is included with a pass?

When parents invest in a Dragons pass, they want to know exactly what they're getting. Every pass includes your child's placement in a team with the same certified coach, same day, and same time each week. That consistency is the foundation of real progress. Children also receive a Dragons Team Kit (team shirt) and a Progress Passbook as part of joining the weekly programme. Provided, not sold separately. The kit creates team identity. The passbook gives parents visibility into their child's growth. Some programs charge extra for materials. We don't.

### Where are Dragons.sg sessions held?

We operate across multiple central Singapore locations so families across the island can access our programs. Current locations include Somerset (313 Somerset, Orchard Road area), Bishan, East Coast Park, and Stadium. Each venue is carefully selected for safety, accessibility by public transport, and the right environment for the activities running there. When you book a session, Try Out, or camp, the exact location and meeting point details are confirmed in your booking confirmation. Many families choose locations close to home or near where they work for convenient drop off.

### How do I book for my child?

Parents tell us the booking process is one of the simplest they've experienced. Book directly at dragons.sg. No phone calls or email chains needed. Choose your program: camp, weekly session, or Try Out. Select your preferred dates, time, and location. Complete the online registration with your child's details. You'll receive instant confirmation with session details, location, and what to bring. Our advice: book early, especially for holiday camps and weekend Try Outs. Spots fill quickly because team sizes are capped at 6 children per coach.

### How far in advance can I book sessions?

For weekly sessions, you can book up to 4 weeks in advance through your family account. We recommend booking at least 1 week ahead to secure your preferred time slot. Especially for popular Saturday morning and after school sessions which fill up fastest. For holiday camps, early bird booking usually opens 6 to 8 weeks before camp starts with discounted rates. Try Out sessions can be booked anytime there's availability, but weekend slots tend to fill within days of opening. If your preferred time is full, join the waitlist. Spots open up regularly.
